1. Data Controller

2. Processed Data and Purposes
When using the app, we only collect personal data that is necessary for providing the app and its functions:
Registration Data
When creating a user account, we collect your email address and a nickname of your choice. This data is needed to provide you access to the app, verify your account, and communicate with you.

Authentication and Usage Data
After successful registration, a unique auth token is created. Additionally, when using the app, we process data such as your requests to the server and technically receive information such as your device's IP address, device type, operating system version, and timestamps of server requests.

User Contributions (Content)
When you enter abandoned places through the app, we process the information you provide. This includes, for example, the name of the place, description texts, categories, location coordinates, as well as photos you upload and comments you write.

Location Data
The app itself does not collect permanent location data about you. A location function is only used to show you nearby entries. Location queries are made locally on your device; no ongoing movement profiles are created.

In-App Purchases
The app offers a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks optional additional features. No payment data is collected directly by us for this purchase. The purchase process takes place exclusively through the respective app store.

Communication
When you contact us by email, we process your email address and the information contained therein exclusively to handle your inquiry and subsequent communication with you.

3. Hosting and Data Transfer to Third Parties
The processing of all the above data takes place in data centers within Germany. Our app servers are hosted by STRATO AG, Pascalstraรe 10, 10587 Berlin on our behalf. There is a data processing agreement with STRATO according to Art. 28 GDPR. No further transfer of your personal data to third parties takes place in principle, unless we are legally obligated to do so or you have expressly consented to such transfer.
4. Storage Duration
We store personal data only as long as necessary for the stated purposes:
Account Data (Email, Nickname)
Remain stored as long as your user account is active. When you delete your account or request deletion of your data, this data will be completely removed from our active systems within a short period.
User Contributions (Places, Photos, Comments)
Remain stored as long as you keep them in the app. You can edit or delete your own entries at any time.
Server Logs
Log data (e.g., IP addresses) are kept temporarily for security reasons and are usually automatically deleted after 7 days.
Communication Data
We keep emails or support inquiries as long as necessary for processing and any follow-up questions.
5. Mandatory Provision and Consent
Providing the data marked as required is necessary to use the app. Without this data, we cannot provide you with the app's services. Providing additional, optional information is voluntary. Where we obtain your consent for certain processing, you can revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future.
6. Your Rights as Data Subject
You have the following legal rights regarding your personal data processed by us:

You can request information about what personal data we have stored about you.

You have the right to have incorrect or incomplete personal data about you corrected or completed.

7. Data Security
We implement technical and organizational security measures to protect your data from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. Communication between the app and server is encrypted so that your transmitted data cannot be read by third parties. Your passwords are not stored in plain text but in secure, cryptographically hashed form. Please note that you should keep your password confidential and protect your device from unauthorized access.
8. Changes to Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update this privacy policy as needed, for example due to technical changes to the app or new legal requirements. The current version of the privacy policy can be viewed in the app at any time. We will notify you of significant changes in an appropriate manner. For changes that require your participation, we will naturally obtain this.
